Resources - Before you leave
Besides locking your door and finding someone to watch your dog, there are a few more things that you'll want to take care of before you leave. Most of these are obvious but are easy to forget in the excitement of leaving for a long trip. They include, but are not limited to, the following;
- Unplug small appliances (coffee maker, etc)
- Take out the garbage
- Turn off all the lights (unless you are leaving some on for security purposes)
- Cancel the newspaper
- Have someone collect the mail or get it held by the post office
- Print off your itinerary and important documents and give a copy to someone at home
- Clean all perishables out the fridge
